Our Founding
High Point Events & Catering was founded in 1971 as Egan Barbecuers. We started as a solely seasonal off-premise BBQ caterer working out of a facility in Germantown. We have evolved and grown over the past 49 years but have remained a family-owned company with our current owner, Bob Egan who took over in 1996. In 1998, we grew our company by purchasing High Point Farm and created a venue of our own. Events at High Point Farm originally used tents for each event until 2001 when we built the large pavilions that currently sit in each site. Having access to a venue of our own has helped our event catering team in Clarksburg provide social and corporate event services at a much higher level.

To be the go-to Clarksburg catering and event-services company most admired for its food and service, its expertise, and its relationships with clients, staff, and partners.
Our Experiences
Our food has been a part of 2 presidential events, first in 1974 for President Gerald Ford and again in 2001 for President George W. Bush. In 2008 we expanded our services to include full onsite staging and catering for disaster relief in the Mid-Atlantic. We have lent aid and support during natural disasters almost every year since 2008 including Hurricanes Derecho & Sandy in 2012, the tropical storm to hit the northwest in 2015 and the North American blizzard in 2017. Apart from disaster relief, we were able to successfully execute a “Mega Day” where we hosted 3 events in 2 venues and fed over 4,000 people in 8 hours.
Our New Home
After a fire in 2013 at our Germantown location, we officially moved our entire operation to High Point Farm, a 150-acre lot with an overlook of Sugarloaf Mountain, located in Clarksburg. Our event catering specialists, despite the loss, were able to come together as a team and successfully host events the very next day. Since then, we have expanded our footprint all over the DMV and continue to grow and build our relationships with clients, venues and vendors.

Currently, we are rebranding and building on our community partnerships and touching. Through a lot of teamwork and innovation, with a healthy heaping of positive attitude and hard work, we are excited to see the successful next chapter of High Point Events & Catering.
